LeoVegas Review

LeoVegas is a fun and colourful world that echos Vegas, but is built for Canadians. This is the place with everything. If you’re a fan of slots, you’ve got more than 650 versions to choose from. For the sports fans out there, LeoVegas is also one of the few casinos that offers sports betting. Hockey, tennis, football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, golf…they’ve pretty much got it all. And if you ever get tired of slots and sports, there are plenty of table and live games to check out. It’s impossible to walk away without finding something you love.

★★★★☆

Welcome Bonus: When you work out the details of this bonus, it’s one of the best we’ve seen offered. Players can also choose an offer based on what they play: Casino, Live Casino, or Sports.

Games: Variety is LeoVegas’ strong suit. From the savanna to the sea, from fortune tellers to fantasy, you can find almost any theme you’re looking for.

Look: While we love the bright colours and overall clean design, the center column layout gives LeoVegas a slightly outdated feel. Unexpected functions also make for somewhat clunky navigation through the site.

Customer Support: There’s no shortage of ways to get in touch 24/7. You’ll find a live chat button on the footer, as well as an email and multiple phone numbers when you click ‘Support’.

Welcome Bonus

This welcome bonus is great if you plan to play long-term.

This is one of the best bonus offers we came across. The main offer is a tiered bonus, where each tier matches a certain percentage of your deposit.

You automatically get 22 free spins just for signing up. Then, to activate the rest of the bonus, the minimum deposit is $10. And although you’ll notice all of the examples on LeoVegas are in Euros, we’ve been assured that it actually depends on the currency you sign up with, not exchange.

It works like this:

Deposit 1: LeoVegas will match 200% of your deposit up to $100 and give you 50 spins.

Deposit 2: LeoVegas will match 100% of your deposit up to $300 and give you 50 spins.

Deposit 3: LeoVegas will match 50% of your deposit up to $300 and give you 50 spins.

Deposit 4: LeoVegas will match 50% of your deposit up to $300 and give you 50 spins.

The wagering requirements on this bonus are actually pretty reasonable at 35x. And according to their website, only the bonus has wagering requirements, not the deposit. So, if you deposit the minimum ($10) and get $20 in bonus, you need to play 35 x 20 = 700.

Although this is a relatively good offer, there are some drawbacks. First, all of your free spins are on book of the dead, and they come in the predetermined amount of $0.20. The winnings from your spins will also add to your wagering requirements, making it harder to meet them.

The wagering requirements also go up to 70x on live games, and table games and video poker games only contribute 10% stake toward your wagering requirements.

There are also two other more simplistic offers you can choose from: 100% match up to $250 on live games, and bet $10 to get $10 on sports.

Games

It doesn’t matter what theme you’re looking for, chances are, you’ll find something that fits the bill on LeoVegas. With over 650 slots games on offer, it’s pretty hard not to.

Slots not your game? LeoVegas still has plenty of options for you. There are plenty of table games available such as baccarat, blackjack, roulette, and poker, including live versions. And once you’ve had enough of hitting the tables, you can always place a few sports bets for good measure. Hockey, tennis, football, cricket, basketball, volleyball, golf…they’ve probably got your sport.

If you’re not sure you want to sign up, you can always test games first. You can try almost any game on the site for free, barring the live games. Games load quickly and most have fun, high-quality graphics that can provide hours of entertainment.

The one questionable games related issue is their app. They claim to have an award winning mobile app, but with no link on their website, and little information available on Google Play and iTunes, it’s difficult to verify that a legitimate app actually exists. If you’re dying to play on mobile, LeoVegas probably isn’t the option for you at this point.

Look

The look and navigation is by far the weakest part of the website. When you first click into LeoVegas, you’re met with bright colours and a high-contrast, no outline style that looks fresh and new.

But as you continue to dig through the website, you start to realize that there’s some room for improvement in the design. First, there’s the center column layout, which, despite some of the better elements, still makes the website look a little out of date.

Next is the navigation. On most websites, if you click into a page, you can click the logo to get back to the homepage. But if you click into a new page on LeoVegas, you have to click a little button at the bottom right of the screen that says, ‘BACK TO GAMES’. Not a deal breaker, but it certainly trips you up.

The search function also leaves a bit to be desired. If you know the exact title of the game you’re looking for, you’re golden – type it in and you’ll get right to the game. But if you make a mistake, or you get a word wrong, you can be taken to a game that has nothing to do with what you’re looking for. We’d rather see a page with options close to what you typed.

Finally, there’s the mystery of table games. If you don’t already know where to look, you’re going to have a hard time finding them. Under the casino tab, there are options for a variety of slots, but nothing about table games. Who would guess that you have to scroll all the way to the bottom of either the ‘Casino’ or ‘Live Casino’ page to find it? Not us.

Customer Support

LeoVegas makes it easy to get support. Despite some navigation issues on the website, the live chat and ‘Support’ tab are front and center. And support is available 24/7.

When you first click the support tab, you’re taken to the FAQ page to help you find any quick answers you’re looking for. If you still need help, there are more support options available.

When you click into the live chat feature, they require your name and email address along with the issue you’re having before the chat goes live. The response is quick and courteous, but if we’re really going to pick it apart, in our experience, the answer wasn’t that clear.

However, given how polite they were, I’m sure they would have stayed online with us, explaining the answers to our questions as long as needed. Our service member, Jessica, started the conversation by apologizing for any confusion and asked if we had any follow-up questions before allowing us to terminate the conversation.

Beyond live chat, they also offer a contact form, a contact email, and two phone numbers, one of which is toll free. If you have a complex question and you have the time, we recommend going for the email option. When you give a company a little more time to respond, the answer is usually more thoughtful and clear.

But, if you’re short on time or have a simple question, the live chat is quick and helpful.

Conclusion

If you get bored easily, and your main priority is finding a website with maximum variety, our research suggests LeoVegas is a great place to play. If you plan to play long term, the bonus stacks up well against other casinos, but if you want to dip your toes in, the tiered system may end up working against you. LeoVegas also offers every kind of support you could want, and it’s quick and courteous. The only real downfall we could find is some design flaws, but for everything you get, it would be easy to get used to.
